At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away.
It was there by faith
I received my sight
And now I am happy
all the day.
Isn’t it amazing that there is a word whose definition actually means “the distinct scent of rain, usually described as earthy, pleasant, or sweet, produced by rainfall on very dry ground”? The word is “petrichor”
As in, “Quaker Meadow is suffused with petrichor on this beautifully gray day.”
Maybe there is a spiritual petrichor that rises to heaven when His Word rains on our thirsting hearts? #pleasingaroma #thankfulforrain
Isn’t there that vets that talks about the Wod of God “cutting, splitting, dividing, coming between” joint and marrow... this old splitter reminded me about this. This thing is POWERFUL but imagine how much more the Word of God!!! What do you need the Word to divide today?
Everyone needs living water in their life... drink freely!
In my devotion and walk this morning, it hit me that we stand as trees in the forest. Some dying, some dead, some harboring life, some full of life... if the stories could only be told... this central tree in the silhouette seems to be in the last years of its life and yet I was told it held the cable to the old zip line. It “supported” many lives! We are the trees living in the forest. Don’t forget who the Life-Giver truly is. We journey to the place where death will never take life again. Live your journey for His kingdom! Let the stories be told!
