Management Positions

The management team is a hands on (in the trenches) summer leadership team. They work together to ensure that Quaker Meadow is running smoothly. These team members will have input on the general operations of camp and staff welfare. We are looking for spiritually mature, hard working, and responsible individuals to help lead and nurture the staff. Management applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Assistant Chef: Assists the Executive Chef in the daily duties and helps oversee the Kitchen Team. Works closely with meal preparation and planning as well as clean up. Applicants should be familiar with proper food storage and safety requirements. Priority consideration will be given to individuals that posses a current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or equivalent. This is a servant leadership position that requires the ability to be organized and lead by example. In charge of the kitchen at least one day a week on Executive Chef's day off.

  • Facilities Maintenance Team Leader: Supervises the Facilities Team and oversees the maintenance, repairs and general upkeep of Quaker Meadow facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment. Must have in-depth experience in building maintenance. Priority consideration will be given to applicants with at least 3 years of experience in the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, aquatic facilities construction/maintenance, HVAC, sheetrock, basic automotive, and heavy equipment operations. A valid drivers license and clean driving record is required. Ability to create and prioritize to-do lists for each team member while leading by example to keep team on task throughout the day. This is not a 9 am - 5 pm position; the position is on call 24 hours a day.

  • Food Services Manager/Executive Chef: The Food Services Manager/Executive Chef is responsible for all aspects of food services including meal planning, meal costing, ordering, inventory management, and overseeing food preparation and service, and ensuring proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen. Priority consideration will be given to applicants with at least 3 years of experience working in camp or a commercial food preparation environment, with ServSafe or equivalent training. The Executive Chef is an integral part of the leadership team and will be expected to lead with character and integrity, and lead staff devotionals, with a focus on ministering to camp staff as well as our guests. The FSM/EC will be expected to perform staff performance evaluations. The Executive Chef and Kitchen Team are usually the first up in the mornings and the last ones off duty in the evenings. The successful candidate should be able to think on their feet and be able to work well in a fast paced and stressful environment, while leading their team to meet deadlines.

  • Hospitality Team Leader: Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the dining hall. This is a servant leadership position that requires the individual to keep other team members on task and to lead by example. In charge of all drink stations, dish room, setting tables and chairs etc. Orders and inventories all supplies of the dining hall. This is a frontline position that is a primary face of Quaker Meadow. Applicants should be very friendly and outgoing, organized and motivated with the ability to talk in front of large groups.

  • Housekeeping Team Leader: Under the Direction of the Summer Staff Manager, this position supervises the Housekeeping Team in the consistent quality cleaning of camp buildings and grounds, as well as coordinating with the Office/Store Manager with the provision and scheduling of camp staff to run the camp store. This is a servant leadership position that requires the individual to keep other team members on task and to lead by example. Duties include cleaning of all buildings and cabins before, during and after groups come to Quaker Meadow. Cleans restrooms and restocks them when needed. Also in charge of laundry room and laundry of the staff and program buildings.

  • Recreation Team Leader: Oversees all recreation activities at camp. In charge of the training of the Recreation Team, keeping all equipment in top condition, and upkeep of the recreation room, field, hiking trails, etc. Activities include the zip-line, swimming pool, pond, climbing wall, Goliath's Ladder and rappelling rock, leading hikes as well as working the campfires. Works with the program staff of each camp to determine needs for recreation activities. Applicants must be outgoing and personable, with a high commitment to excellent service and safety and be striving to serve Christ through their service at camp.

  • Summer Staff Manager: The Summer Staff Manager will be responsible for working directly with the Executive Director/Camp Manager in supervising the facilities maintenance, recreation, and housekeeping staff in the maintenance of the facilities, facilitation of camp sanctioned recreational activities, and cleaning facilities throughout the season. The Summer Staff Manager must have the ability to lead by example, strong communication and organizational skills and have a strong, vibrant, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The Summer Staff Manager will also be expected to participate in leading devotionals, team building exercises, and reviews of staff performance.

Team Positions

Applicants must be at least 17 years old; volunteers must be at least 15 years old. Quaker Meadow's summer staff is an integral part of our mission to "provide an environment for youth and adults to come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ." We are looking for individuals with extremely high standards for moral integrity, a willingness to humbly serve, and a positive attitude. Hours are long, the work is hard, and pay is low, but the spiritual benefits are incredible & eternal. A summer on staff is guaranteed to be a life changing and memorable experience!   • Facilities Maintenance Team Member: Responsibilities include basic construction, electrical, trash duty and other hands on tasks. The Facilities Team works to keep the camp running and maintained through out the summer. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds on a regular basis is required. Ability to follow through and be self motivated is a must. The facilities team also participates in facilitation of camp sanctioned recreational activities such as the zipline, Goliath's ladder, climbing wall, rappelling rock, and archery range.

  • Hospitality Team Member: Team members provide friendly and efficient dining room service by welcoming guests, preparing tables, cleaning the dining room and running the dish room. This is a front line team. We are seeking individuals with a highly relational personality who love interacting with people and going above and beyond guest expectations.

  • Housekeeping Team Member: Duties include cleaning of all buildings and cabins before, during and after a group come to Quaker Meadow. Cleans restrooms and restocks them when needed. Also in charge of laundry room and laundry of the staff and program buildings. Assists in the store as needed.

  • Kitchen Team Member: Members of this team prepare high quality meals, operate equipment, and clean the kitchen. Team members must enjoy working in a tight knit and deadline driven environment.

  • Media Technician: Job responsibilities include maintaining AV equipment and inventory before, during, and after groups are on site. Applicants must have experience operating and troubleshooting soundboards, stage inputs and adapters (XLR, direct boxes, etc.), amplifiers, Mac & PC operating systems, and multimedia projectors. Also works with the Recreation Team when needed. Filming and editing knowledge is a plus.

  • Pond Lifeguard: Must be a Red Cross certified (or equivalent) lifeguard. The daily responsibilities include maintaining the boats, enforcing the life jacket policy and providing supervision during the lake's operating hours and assisting the Recreation Team.

  • Pool Lifeguard: Must be a Red Cross certified (or equivalent) lifeguard. The daily responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the pool facilities, chemical levels and providing supervision during the pool's operating hours and assisting the Recreation team.

  • Recreation Team Member: Job responsibilities are centered on recreation activities. This is a front line team. We are seeking individuals with a highly relational personality who loves interacting with people and is adventurous and loves the outdoors. Works to keep all recreation equipment in top shape and do regular safety checks and training. Ability to frequently lift 25-50 pounds is required.
